Description
This course examines developments within the church from the era of the Protestant Reformation through the modern era, from approximately the year 1500 through 2000 AD. Issues to be addressed include reforming expressions within the Western church; reorganization and reinstitutionalization within Protestant communities and revisioning purpose within Roman Catholic expressions; the intersection of church and state; pietistic, missional, and scholastic expressions of the church; the re-engagement of global expressions of the church during the late modern era.
