This course will provide students with strategies and tools for becoming a facilitating and reflective practitioner in the content area classroom and helping adolescent students discover that content area learning is made richer when reading, writing, speaking, and listening are taught together. Particular emphasis is placed on a scientific approach to reading, vocabulary, and comprehension strategies for content reading, the role of reflection in helping students to think critically, meeting the needs of special populations, and the use of appropriate texts and mediaPrerequisites: None
