Description

This course is designed to provide students with an overview of historical and theoretical perspectives on educating children with emotional and behavioral differences. Students will acquire knowledge regarding referral processes, assessment procedures and protocols utilized in making decisions, and judgment regarding individualized educational plans, placement, and programs. They will develop specialized instructional strategies and curriculum to use with the child emotional disabilities and behavioral disorders, develop a critical undsertanding of current practices in service delivery system, and examine professional issues and trends that impact the future of the field. Prerequisite: None
